Foundation has created this resource page to connect families in Northern Colorado with trusted organizations, financial assistance programs, support services, and helpful information for navigating a pediatric medical crisis.

Whether you're looking for help with medical expenses, emotional support, specialized care, or community resources, our goal is to make it easier to find the assistance you need. You don't have to navigate this journey alone—we're here to help you find hope, support, and the resources that can make a difference.

Financial Assistance

The B.A.B.Y. Foundation

The B.A.B.Y. Foundation provides financial assistance to medically underinsured families in Weld and Larimer Counties whose children are facing serious medical challenges. Assistance may include qualifying medical bills, hearing aids, therapies, medical equipment, and other eligible medical expenses.

Children's Hospital Colorado Financial Assistance

We know that paying for healthcare can be stressful. That’s why Children’s Hospital Colorado offers multiple ways to get help paying for care, and our Financial Counseling team will help you apply. We can help with:

  • Government assistance

  • Hospital financial assistance

  • Payment plans

Anyone can apply for financial assistance. If you don’t have insurance, our Financial Counseling team will automatically reach out to talk with you about available options and see what you might qualify for. Learn more about the programs available, eligibility requirements and how to apply below.

Children's Hospital Colorado Resources

A one-stop resource for families receiving care at Children's Hospital Colorado, including Child Life Specialists, social workers, family support services, interpreters, behavioral health resources, and more.

Brent's Place

Brent’s Place is a long-term home away from home for families of pediatric and adult patients undergoing treatment for life-threatening illnesses at leading hospitals in the Denver Metro area. 

Ronald McDonald House Charities

When your child receives treatment far from home, Ronald McDonald House provides families with affordable lodging, meals, laundry facilities, and a supportive community close to the hospital.

Insurance & Medical Bills

Hospital Financial Counselors

Many families don't know hospitals employ financial counselors whose entire job is helping families understand insurance coverage, payment plans, Medicaid, and financial assistance options.

Ask your hospital for a Financial Counselor or Patient Advocate.

What to ask your hospital:

  • Can we meet with a hospital social worker?

  • Is there a financial counselor available?

  • Are there grants available for my child's diagnosis?

  • Can someone help us understand our insurance benefits?

  • Are there transportation or lodging resources available?

  • What nonprofit organizations support families like ours?

  • Are there parent support groups we can join?

  • Is there a case manager who can help coordinate our child's care?

Colorado Medicaid (Health First Colorado)

Provides health coverage for qualifying Colorado children and families.

North Colorado Health Alliance (Medicaid Application Assistance)

The North Colorado Health Alliance's Community Health Development Team assists families in navigating the state's health insurance marketplace and complete Medicaid applications. Families can reach out to them at 970-350-4673 or NCHAcarecoordination.alliance@nocoha.org. 

Medical Equipment & Special Needs

Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment

Offers statewide resources for children with special healthcare needs, including family support, medical resources, care coordination, and developmental services.

Avery's Light

Avery's Light is a nonprofit organization committed to empowering individuals with disabilities by creating opportunities where everyone can thrive. WHALE Respite Center

We proudly serve children of all abilities and their families, offering inclusive respite services. Our inclusive child care services provide a fun and safe environment for children while giving caregivers the opportunity to mentally and physically recharge.
