Resources for Families Facing a Child's Medical Journey

When your child is facing a serious medical condition, knowing where to turn can feel overwhelming. The B.A.B.Y. Foundation has created this resource page to connect families in Northern Colorado with trusted organizations, financial assistance programs, support services, and helpful information for navigating a pediatric medical crisis.

Whether you're looking for help with medical expenses, emotional support, specialized care, or community resources, our goal is to make it easier to find the assistance you need. You don't have to navigate this journey alone—we're here to help you find hope, support, and the resources that can make a difference.

Insurance & Medical Bills

Hospital Financial Counselors

Many families don't know hospitals employ financial counselors whose entire job is helping families understand insurance coverage, payment plans, Medicaid, and financial assistance options.

Ask your hospital for a Financial Counselor or Patient Advocate.

What to ask your hospital:
  • Can we meet with a hospital social worker?

  • Is there a financial counselor available?

  • Are there grants available for my child's diagnosis?

  • Can someone help us understand our insurance benefits?

  • Are there transportation or lodging resources available?

  • What nonprofit organizations support families like ours?

  • Are there parent support groups we can join?

  • Is there a case manager who can help coordinate our child's care?
