Jackson was diagnosed prenatally with a cleft lip and palate. He was first evaluated by a cleft palate team at 3 weeks of age in Phoenix, Arizona. Their insurance dictated that they receive care in Phoenix, thus sending the family on 10 flights in 9 months for surgeries and follow-ups. Jackson’s cleft lip and palate were repaired by a renowned craniofacial surgeon; the end result being a thin scar, a perfectly shaped nostril and a palate with no resemblance of a cleft. The B.A.B.Y. Foundation assisted us with a month’s worth of bills including a truck payment, an automobile insurance payment and utility bills. It was a great help! Stephanie Jackson's Mother |
